all paneled walls

I am tired of paneling and removing it isn't an option. Is there anything I can do to cover it so it doesn't look like paneling and make it look more home like? Would appreciate any ideas.

Since you don't/can't remove the paneling, I guess you have to cover it up.

If the walls are reasonably flat and smooth, just hang 1/4" drywall right over the top of the paneling. Finish the drywall with tape and mud, sand it, and paint it. You could even texture the drywall if you wanted to.

You might be able to do it differently, like hanging heavy vinyl wall covering but I wouldn't do it if it were my house. I'd have to look at it for a long time if things didn't come out right. Go the drywall route and you'll have a nice finish that you can look at for years and paint or paper it to your heart's content.

Good Luck.

I would put new drywall over it since you won't want to go back to paneling ever. Removing the paneling would save what, an inch? The next owner can repanel over it if they like :)
