Advice on Kitchen remodel.
Young3815

Hello all,
We just bought a very old house that needs to be completely gutted and remodeled. The first two rooms that will be done is the master bedroom and the kitchen. I have no problem designing the master bedroom but I am having trouble with the kitchen. I know how I want it to look and the appliances I want to have but since it will be added on to I am not sure how to plan the layout. If anyone has any suggestions or planning tools that would be helpful that would be great. Wish us luck on this adventure!

Thank you
Ashtyn

You can find many kitchen designs on line, home decor magazines, from architects and interior designers, even big box stores. Just bring in your measurements.

Spend some time on Houzz and Pinterest to see what layouts and designs you prefer.

Since you're starting with a clean slate anything is possible. About the only advice I can give is to stay with standard sizes so that repairs, upgrades, and replacements in the future will be easy. Also think about traffic flow in the area, which with kids may call for more space at the fridge that for just the cook alone. And you can almost never have too many outlets in a kitchen.
