Adding foam insulation over paper backed batts in attic rafters.

Can you use fanfold styrofaoam (0.25-in x 4-ft x 50-ft) to cover paper backed insulated batts in attic rafters before drywalling.

This would give an added R value with a minimum of insulation over the exposed rafter ends as well as make up for some gaps between the rafters and the batts (rafters aren't precisely equally spaced).
