84" Entry door - fiberglass, craftsman style

I'm wanting to replace my old wood entry door in my 1920's bungalow style house. The current door has three glass panels, and is craftsman style door. Its 84" x 36" - so obviously an odd size. I'd like to keep it the same style door (craftsman) and upgrade to a fiberglass door for energy efficiency, without sacrificing the character of the entry.

Without spending way too much money I haven't been able to find a manufacturer that has a 7'0" fiberglass door in a craftsman style. Does anyone have ideas of manufacturers that might have this available? Or maybe other ideas that I could do using a standard 6'8" door?

Thanks in advance,
Jeremy

Thanks for the advice. I checked those sites but wasn't able to find the type of door I'm looking for. This website is an example of what we're looking for:

Any other thoughts?

I have that same door. Why not that one?

Because I'm told it only comes in 6'8" or 8'0" - and I need a 7'0" door

Is your current door the original? If so, it's not the door causing issues, but the weatherstripping.

I'm pretty sure its the original, but not positive since we haven't lived in the house too long. Its a brick house and the height of the door opening is maybe 7'2" or so - so I can't go up to a full 8'0" door, and if I'd use a 6'8" door I'd have that awkward 4-6" space between the top of the door and the brick.

I know I can get a new wood door but ultimately I wouldn't get the energy tax credit for the wood door that I likely would for the fiberglass door.

Is there something wrong with the one that's in there? If you can feel cool air coming in around the door, it just needs better weatherstripping. Maybe yours has pieces missing.

This site is one of a few where you can get good, quality copper weatherstripping.

Cheaper than a new door, even with the tax credit

Hope this helps!

I've addded some weatherstripping and that helps. But its just such and old door and the frame is starting to rot and its just plain old. Energy efficiency is definitely a concern, but also aesthetics.

Wondering if you can get a smaller door ordered with a transom above?

By the way. I love the door (thermatru). Get lots of compliments on it.

Jeremy -

I clicked on one of the links someone else provided and found this door - you can select different types of glass etc.

It looks similar to the Therma-Tru door, but does come in a 7' height.

Good Luck with your search.
