40 millilitres of rain

Here in the North we are expecting 40 millilitres of rain.
A rain warning is in effect. Can this cause flooding of basements or is the ground still frozen so it shouldn't be a concern.

well that is a fair amount of rain. but its not the rain that causes the basement to flood, its improper drainage around the foundation and not having proper gutters and downspouts

Re: 40 millilitres of rain

as long as there is good drainage and you dont have any cracks in the foundation you should be fine

milliliters or millimeters?
That's an 1 1/2" in my world if mm, an ounce and a half if ml. ;)Not usually a problem if the house is properly graded.
We had 2 1/2" the other night.
