I am building a home in the Chicago land area and am trying to decide between the thinner 29 gauge and the thickest 24 gauge roof. On one hand I like money. On the other hand I want the house to last 50 years. What are your opinions.
Go with the lower gauge for a more durable, dent resistant roof.
There are are other factors to consider, like the type of metal, the finish, the slope and as you mentioned - budget. Weigh everything before makind up your mind.
