1949 Bathroom Walls

Can anyone please tell me what my bathroom walls are made of? My house was built in 1949. Half the walls are made of this fiberglass/acrylic faux marble type material and in the shower is a decorative very this almost cardboard piece. I have attached pictures incase my description isn't enough. Thank You!

If I remember correctly that was a product made by Masonite. It is tempered Masonite with a coated finish. I can't remember what the finish is made of, possibly plastic .

You have a very 60's answer to remodeling materials! It's a coated hard-board (IE: Masonite). It should really have never been used in a moisture-rich environment, but I can remember the house we grew up in had this same material. Once it gets water-logged it just starts to come apart and the coating cracks, peels, etc. It only takes a single crack or tear in the convering to allow the mosture to get in. :(
