1905 Dutch Colonial

My home was built in 1905 and of course there wasn't any insulation until about 20 years go. Well, the exterior walls are nicely insulated but I have a room up stairs that is hot and will not stay cool. Like I'm the only one right? However. This room is over the living room, partialy. The front half of the room is over the front porch. There is no insulation in the ceiling of the front porch, allowing the heat and cold to radiate into this room. What and how sould I go about insulating this area. From outside by removing the porch ceiling or other ways, or by removing the original hardwoods upstairts and laying in insulation?
