1890's Farmhouse with leaking / rotted wooden gutter
gglancey

My wife and I own an 1890's Farmhouse that has been in the family for over 75 years. There is a front porch that extends across the front of the house that needs repair. The roof is comprised of 5/4 x 4" boards with galvanized metal that is in 1 piece, and extends to cover a built in wooden gutter. Over the past several years I've attempted to repair areas where the roof leaks, and re-paint the metal roof. Does anyone have a suggestion on how to repair / resurface this roof and still maintain a built in gutter if possible?

Repair it first, make sure it doesn't leak, then paint it.

Go to YouTube and watch how to paint a thing like this.
