In this video, furniture maker Christopher Beidel builds a storage bed.
Steps:
1. Cut the MDF pieces.
2. Assemble the storage carcasses.
3. Dry-fit the carcasses.
4. Join the carcasses.
5. Install the 2x4 support frame.
6. Cut the MDF bed-frame pieces.
7. Install the panels.
8. Attach the headboard.
9. Install the face frames.
10. Install the cap trim.
11. Install the headboard trim.
12. Install the paneling.
13. Add the finishing touches.

⅜-inch MDF beadboard panels

1x2 primed MDF trim
Get eleven
8-foot lengths for the stiles, rails, and cap.
2x4s
Get three 8-footers.
Victorian-era door-casing kit (includes rosettes)½x 3 lattice strip shoe molding
Get 20 feet.
1¼-, 1½-, and 2-inch MDF screws
2½-inch deck screws
1½-inch 18-gauge brads
Construction adhesive
Wood glue
¾-inch quarter-round
150-grit sandpaper
Primer and paint
