Inside the loft, plumbing and heating contractor Richard Trethewey gives host Kevin O'Connor some lessons on leaky valves and how to repair them. Then, general contractor Tom Silva heads to Waltham, Massachusetts to help homeowners David Anderson and Alicia Beneteau replace an old, rusty cellar door with a new fiberglass model. Back in the loft, Tom and Rich, along with landscaping contractor Roger Cook and host Kevin O'Connor ask, "What is it?" Then, Roger helps homeowner Christine Dinardo of Carlisle, Massachusetts repair a leaky drip irrigation hose.
Plumbing Valves
Richard demonstrated a few of the most common types of plumbing valves and how they work. He showed a stop-and-waste valve, a gate valve, and a ball valve.
