Q: There's a gap under my garage door on one side. How do I get rid of it?

Protect foundation plantings whenever there's going to be a heavy rain of debris down from work on the roof or siding. Notch one end of several 2x4s and nail them between the fascia and stakes in the ground, then tack a heavy tarp under the first row of shingles and pull it tight over the gutter and plants below. Anchor the tarp by tying it off to the stakes.
