Granite Counters from India

To get the thick ogee edge on the kitchen countertops, a three-quarter inch slab of Paradiso granite from India was cut with a diamond blade wet saw and rolled under the existing slab to match the veins and hide the seam. The two layers were then glued together with a two part epoxy blended to match the stone color. A dry diamond cut wheel prepared the edge and a diamond bit router carved the ogee. Finally a pneumatic air polisher buffed the edge until it gleamed like the top. The counters were ready to take its place in the Flemings’ kitchen.
