Midnight in the Garden Apartment

The garden apartment, which housed a radiologist's office, was down right scary. X-ray equipment, crumbling walls and obsolete ductwork were removed to make room for the new electrical and plumbing work for the addition.

On the exterior, mason Terry Wright and his crew reused local "Savannah Grey" bricks from underneath the old porch to build up a veneer on the new addition. Around the new windows, a millwork shop custom made five-quarter-inch fir mouldings to match those of the existing windows. The spooky space was soon transformed into a livable apartment ready for tenants.
