Plainer than its first-floor counterpart, this room lacks plaster mouldings and built-ins but does
possess a lovely view down to the Mystic River. The elaborate, Colonial Revival-style casework
that separate it from the living room most likely was a later "improvement," dating from the same
redecorating that yielded the fireplace surround.
