As long as there have been verdant forests and fields of flowers, artists have looked to Mother Nature as their muse. Between the mid-1800s and the early 20th century, for instance, designers such as William Morris and C.F.A. Voysey featured stylized botanical motifs and whimsical woodland creatures in their wallpaper designs. Today, these classic patterns are connecting with a fresh audience, and a whole new crop of designers is finding similar inspiration in nature's bounty. Here and on the following pages are some of our favorite reproductions of traditional prints alongside their modern counterparts.
