Adding Arched Transom Complements Original Vaulted Archway: After

Who: Jim C.
Where: Philadelphia

Our kitchen has lots of light, great storage and workflow. The added arched transom and French doors and the removal of the dining room wall have opened up the space. The transom also beautifully complements the original vaulted archway and the other arched details in the living room. We also especially appreciate the comfortable cork floor (inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright's Fallingwater) and the character and light reflected by the backsplash tiles.

Who did the work: We did most of the work ourselves.
Cost: $25,000-$50,000
