Getting Creative on How to Optimize Space: After

Who: Jon N.
Where: Shorewood, WI

Once we decided on a new layout, we completely gutted the kitchen to the studs and did so during one of the hottest summers on record. During the demo, we removed the soffits, added can lighting, and installed new drywall. Over a four-week period we installed new cabinets, flooring, countertops, open shelving, backsplash, and energy-efficient appliances. The remodel really made the kitchen much more inviting, cheerful, and a place we enjoy cooking in.

Who did the work: We did all the work ourselves.
Cost: $5,000-$10,000
