Vintage Schoolhouse Style: After from this old house's Best Kitchen Before and Afters 2013 « »

Winner: Vintage Schoolhouse Style: After

Who: Jenn R.
Where: Duluth, MN

We gutted the room down to the studs and removed the ceramic tile that was attached directly to the 100-year-old curly-maple floors. We removed the old window and door and reframed the two new windows and French doors leading to the deck. We rewired the entire kitchen, put up all the drywall, painted, installed all the lights and switches, and built the wall for the pocket door, which leads to our pantry.

Who did the work: We did all the work ourselves.
Cost: $5,000-$10,000
