"One morning, I told my daughter to put the cats in the basement before leaving for school. She didn't. We came home to find they had knocked the tree over and played cat and mouse with the fragile ornaments, all over the hardwood floors. There wasn't much left to put back on the tree and it was years before I could afford to completely replace the ornaments."
