Lowering the Ceiling: After

Who: Susan R.
Where: Ashland, VA

We love every detail about the crown molding and tray/coffered ceiling and love the faux paint accent that we added between ceiling and crown that illuminates with the rope lighting detail. Lowering the ceiling detail to 9 feet, 8 inches enables us to feel like we are in a cozy bedroom. We started crown detail at 9 feet, 8 inches to lower the ceiling. Went up to 10 feet, 6 inches and added a 7-member cornice detail to create a "trough," enabling us to add accent lighting. We painted the wall in between the crown and cornice white, like molding, to create the illusion that it was all connected. We also added a coffered ceiling.
