Now we have a farmhouse kitchen. We had a local artisan build our island from antique wood removed from a 250-year-old Cape Cod farmhouse. Antique wood was used throughout, and the exposed plumbing is unique. With only 225 square feet added, the space now has all the features and functionality my family needed. The house has since been appraised and the value increased more than the cost of the renovation.
Who did the work: A contractor did all of the work Cost: $50,000 to $100,000
