I am so excited to have a new kitchen; we are really enjoying it. I love the peninsula bar, and that the upper cabinets over the stove were removed, plus we added an overhang for seating. I shopped around extensively before selecting a cabinet installer. We also saved money by having the same company provide the cabinets and granite countertops. I took advantage of specials (free sink, including with granite), and we did all the painting and legwork ourselves.
Who did the work: I did some of the work myself, but a contractor did most of it Cost: $5,000 to $10,000
