Technique: Bevel Cut

You want as much shoe on the workpiece as possible, so plan the direction of your cut and flip your material faceup or facedown accordingly. Check that the blade will clear your stock; 6.5-inch blades max out at around 1½ inches at 45 degrees.

Pro Tip:
"Adjust your blade so that only inch extends below the workpiece. It's easier on the saw and safer for your fingers."
