Tall Oregon Grape

(Mahonia aquifolium)

Intriguing glossy but spiky leaves turn red in fall and winter. Showy flowers in spring develop into tart, edible berries that look like purple grapes. Grows tall, so it's at the back. Yellow flowers.

Zone: 2; Hardy to –30 degrees F

Height: up to 15 feet.
