Tufted Hair Grass

(Deschampsia cespitosa)

With gracefully cascading thin leaves, airy wands of flowers, and, later, seeds, this perennial bunchgrass stays attractive most of the year. Green to greenish-gold flowers.

Zone: 1 or 2; Hardy to –40 degrees F

Height: up to 24 inches.
