We knew our 1940s cabin needed remodeling to make the most of a small space. After our son and daughter-in-law surprised us by refinishing its dirty, worn wood floor, my husband and I removed an oversized counter and inefficient potbellied stove, and drew up a plan to move both the kitchen and bath.
