We also closed off the old doorway from the laundry room into what was now the dining room-sunroom. Although we had originally planned on hiring a plumber and electrician, because of scheduling problems we ended up doing ALL the work ourselves! My boyfriend has a small woodworking shop, so he built and installed all of the cabinets from scratch, including the ebony pulls. He poured the concrete countertops off site and hired two guys to help him carry them into the house and install them. He leveled and installed the new beadboard ceiling, and did all the electrical and plumbing. Together we demo'd everything, installed the cork floor, installed the Honey Onyx marble backsplash, and painted.
