We also converted a window to a door on the back and put in a new deck and spiral stairs to connect the house and yard. We now easily host large parties and enjoy using the space for entertaining, gardening, and relaxing. I did almost all the work myself—we had someone else build the metal parts of the deck and stairs and pour the concrete patio. It took about a year and half of weekends and evenings.
