'Save This Old House' Update: 2010

As of press time we had not heard back from the sellers, Kenny and Jennifer Kraft, about the house, but when we last spoke to Kenny (at the end of October), this 113-year-old house was still available. Built by the abolitionist John Mercer Langston, the former school was closed in 1958 and turned into a private residence. The Krafts would prefer a buyer who wants to save the historic schoolhouse, instead of demolishing it to build a new house. The 2,800-square-foot school was originally listed in TOH for $80,000, but Kraft said he was trying to sell it for $45,000.
