We had your typical pitfalls and some not-so-typical ones. Not-so-typical included lifting and moving our home in order to put in a full basement (to support the second story). I was left to do the electrical, some framing, all the tiling, and all of the finish work. Typical problems included trying to finance the project, which we did through the HUD-203k process.
