Due to the age of the house, we paid particular attention to using energy-efficient appliances, new windows, insulation, etc., but I kept the old windows in the front because I love the look. We uncovered hardwood floors and patched the old entryway area with wood salvaged from another room. We refinished the old yellow cabinets and mounted them onto some of the new cabinets to keep a bit of the home's history.
