We are a young family with a traditional 1950s California Ranch house. Our challenge was to revitalize our bland and dysfunctional kitchen. We wanted to create an airy space that would fit our modern aesthetic but still be appropriate to the character of the home. We found that playing with contrasts of light and dark gave this small kitchen an open feel.
