Custom-Made East Indian Rosewood
$100,000 for a bank of 3 upper and 3 lower cabinets

We almost feel guilty showing you these custom cabinets, since once you know something this beautiful exists, it’ll be hard to settle for anything else. These custom East Indian Rosewood cabinets—with English Wych Elm panels—were made by Pennsylvania-based Hearne Hardwoods. East Indian Rosewood is one of the priciest, most durable, and attractive hardwoods available. It’s also difficult to machine, so crafting cabinetry out of it can be daunting. It is usually only used for fine furniture and musical instruments, while pricey Wych Elm is sought after for its dense grain, which often takes on a twisted pattern. The wood is so durable and water resistant that it was once used to construct water mains in its the tree’s native England.
