After the rooms were framed in, our daughter's room was claustrophobic because of the slope of the walls. A dormer window was added to open up the space. There was already a dormer in our son's bedroom. The entrance to this room was, and still is, a spiral staircase, so the remodel was a challenge for the contractors.
Before, our children would play in the room, but no one would sleep upstairs. After the remodel, the children do not want to come downstairs. The remodel turned what was useless space into fabulous living space.
Who did the work: A contractor did all the work Cost: $10,000 to $25,000
