Set in the middle of the city, my secret garden hideaway was built to be just as functional as it was to create a setting of whimsical beauty and escape from the stresses of daily life. A majority of all materials used, from the wood and windows to the bricks and columns were all rescued from a less than favorable fate. A variety of plants and shrubs, including trumpet vine and wysteria surround the yard and drip from the roof tops attracting humming birds, bees, and other animals and insects. At night a ceiling of stars bestows a certain magic and surreal feeling to the garden as well as a peaceful reminder that today is today and tomorrow is tomorrow.
