I am a first time home buyer, and I am extremely lucky to have a very handy family. I was on a limited budget, and my dad, mom, and brother-in-law stepped up to help me update my 1960's house! One of the rooms we tackled was the dining room. It didn't look terrible to begin with, but once we got into it, we realized that there were layers of wallpaper on top of paint on top of wallpaper! We decided that this room needed some extra touches as it is one of the first rooms you see as you walk into the house. We added a custom coat closet, window seat, and dry bar with a granite top.
