Best Bath Before and Afters 2009

A charming, vintage bath was our goal when my husband and I remodeled the bathroom in our 1940's Cotswold cottage. The old bath was cramped, had a 40-year old leaky toilet, and included an inexpensive shower surround that had been installed over the window. We started by gutting the room and completing structural repairs to correct the sagging floor. We replaced the crumbling galvanized plumbing and upgraded the wiring. We were able to increase the size of the bathroom by creating an alcove for the toilet using space from an adjacent hallway closet.
