My wife and I completely remodeled and updated our kitchen from "the 80's" to a more modern and updated look. We removed and gutted the existing kitchen with the "country" looking old oak cabinets with "wooden" style Formica. We increased the single entry door to 100 inches, which would give us the ability to install an island and barstools for added use and convenience. The existing kitchen had an unappealing soffit around three of its four sides, which we removed bringing the cabinetry and ceilings to 8 feet in height.
