Subway tile's current popularity means you'll find it in a wide variety of sizes, materials, and glazes. For instance, this tile is an oversized 4 by 8 inches, has beveled edges, and is made of high-fired red clay with an opaque, glossy-white glaze. The terra-cotta tile is easy to cut—but don't underestimate the challenge of making beveled tiles meet neatly inside a corner.
