You wanted to know: What happened to those ravaged beauties we feature in the back of the magazine each issue? We tell you which have sold, been demolished, or are still available for your taking
Things were looking up for this circa-1880 Second Empire home. Soon after our article was published, the house, which had been vacant for more than a decade, was purchased by a couple, who added a new roof—then pretty much abandoned it. Luckily, the house sold again in August 2007 to a buyer who plans on finishing the restoration work and moving in with his family. No progress so far, but both the homeowner and the Eufaula Historic Preservation Commission—a volunteer board that makes sure the home is taken care of—are very hopeful.
