After our initial examination we realized that neither the bathroom nor the eating area and most of the kitchen had foundations, and we needed to demolish the entire rear of the house and start fresh. The special items in the kitchen are the 250 year old walnut flooring from a demolished barn in Virginia and a stained glass window from Chicago. Our builder was able duplicate the 100-year-old trim in the rest of the house. The best compliment we receive is that it looks like the kitchen has always been there.
