We live in a 100-year-old Dutch Colonial Revival. The house contained a galley kitchen and attached eating area with a wooden deck through sliding glass doors. Over the years, section after section of former porches and exterior space were incorporated into the rear of the house. The original kitchen became a family room, the butler pantry the galley, one porch the eating area, and another porch a bathroom. Our goal was to combine the kitchen and eating areas with space from the deck, to re-design the bathroom, and to create a covered porch to echo a similar porch on the front of the house.
