Closet Reborn: Before

Who: Christine & Bill B.
Where: Providence, RI

Our bedroom had one, shallow closet and two odd 'cubby' spaces high up on one wall. We realized that the chimney ran through that wall and the cubbies were in the extra space. We demolished the existing closet and cubby and removed the entire plaster-on-lath wall. We removed several wall studs and redistributed the weight to broaden the closet and expose the chimney brick. We pulled forward the opening to the closet and added a second. The salvaged closet door plus another became two unpainted by-pass doors for one closet.
