"My husband, Josh, removed a wall with a door that had sealed off the dormered window," said Carrie. "Then he refinished the 80-year-old pine planks—a tedious job! The dormer had only subflooring, so Josh installed floorboards, stained to match. A carpenter helped finish the ceiling. Josh, an Air Force surgeon, worked furiously to finish the room before he was deployed to Iraq in January. At midnight, the night before he left, he ran out of quarter round. He said, 'Should I go to Lowe's and get the last piece?' We're all proud of Josh's work—and can't wait to hug him when he gets home this month."
