Very Bad Things
Is it a matter of taste, or are bad design ideas really that bad? Some award-winning designers give their two cents on the ideas they find the pits, starting with a classic: popcorn ceilings.
"What were builders thinking when they sprayed 'cottage cheese' on the ceilings? Yes, it may help with acoustics, but so do area rugs, upholstered furniture, and draperies. To top it off, some of these ceilings had glitter! Please, keep the cottage cheese in the fridge and the glitter on your kids' artwork, not on your ceilings."
