Colonial Charmer

From Unburied Treasure, October, 2004

This 1730s rustic dining room speaks to the history buff in me. I dig the simple milk-painted mantel and fireplace surround, the exposed beams, and the wide-plank pine floors. Every house that caught my fancy as a kid had this kind of age and character to it. Light a fire, dim the chandelier and get out the candles, and you can't beat the romance and charm of a 175-year-old room.
