Superheated Steam Oven

We long ago gave up boiling our veggies in favor of nutrient-preserving steam cooking. Now Sharp is hoping we'll apply the same method to steaks and chops. The superheated steam oven uses a combination of thermal heat and steam to cook food, sealing in natural juices and vitamins—and, no, it won't sog up your T-bone. An added bonus:?It steams away some fat, too. Twenty preprogrammed settings make it as easy to use as a microwave. The countertop oven, available in arrest-me red or stainless steel, requires no plumbing. Just fill the reservoir and get steamed. About $1,400;
