How to Build an Arbor Bench

Lay evenly spaced 2x2 purlins across the top of the assembly so that the outermost ones are flush with the bottom edges of the rafter tail profiles, as shown. Secure them by driving 3-inch screws through the purlins and into the top edges of the rafters.
