Step 12: Attach the rails and stiles

Attach the rails and stiles to make a wine hutch

Measure and cut the 12 and two 15 face-frame pieces to length on your miter saw. Apply glue to the front edges of the hutch. Set the 15 rails at the top and bottom, concealing the lip of the glass rack and bottom shelf, respectively. Set the 12 stiles flat on the glued edges, flush with the sides of the hutch. Nail through the glued pieces and into the hutch edges with 1½-inch brads.

    3¼-inch baseboard molding. Get one 6-footer.

    9/16x3-inch crown molding. Get one 6-footer.

    2x4 for crown backing. Get 3 feet.

    1x2. Get two clear-pine, 6-footers.

    1x5. Get one clear-pine, 8-footer.

    1½-inch and -inch 18-gauge brad nails

    1¼-inch drywall screws.
